Saturday, December 02, 2006 Yo dudes!! It's been a long while since I've last blogged. It's been busy for me these few months during NS..(Still have few more months to go..)yet I still do not have ample time to do any blogging frequently, especially if you have an 56kbps Dial Up Access Internet Connection (Pacific Internet, of course)..-_-"
Anyway, now let's move on to the topic. Today, we will be taking a sneak peek at two of my favourite movies this month; on the ball are namely; 'Happy Feet' & 'Open Season'. Last Saturday, (25/11/06), I had seen the dancing galore 'Happy Feet'. The plot? In the great nation of Emperor Penguins, deep in Antarctica, you’re nobody unless you can sing--which is unfortunate for Mumble (Elijah Wood), who is the worst singer in the world. He is born dancing to his own tune--tap dancing. Though Mumble’s mom, Norma Jean (Nicole Kidman), thinks this little habit is cute, his dad, Memphis (Hugh Jackman), says it “just ain’t penguin.” Besides, they both know that, without a Heartsong, Mumble may never find true love. As fate would have it, his one friend, Gloria (Brittany Murphy), happens to be the best singer around. Mumble and Gloria have a connection from the moment they hatch, but she struggles with his strange “hippity- hoppity” ways. Mumble is just too different--especially for Noah the Elder (Hugo Weaving), the stern leader of Emperor Land, who ultimately casts him out of the community. Away from home for the first time, Mumble meets a posse of decidedly un-Emperor-like penguins--the Adelie Amigos. Led by Ramon (Robin Williams) the Adelies instantly embrace Mumble’s cool dance moves and invite him to party with them. In Adelie Land, Mumble seeks the counsel of Lovelace the Guru (Robin Williams), a crazy-feathered Rockhopper penguin who will answer any of life’s questions for the price of a pebble. Together with Lovelace and the Amigos, Mumble sets out across vast landscapes and, after some epic encounters, proves that by being true to yourself, you can make all the difference in the world. The movie focuses on the individual differences aspects of life, truth and beliefs,as well as determination, acceptance of who you truly are. It's really touching and full of 'Singing Tunes', even though there are some comedy added to spice up laughter in the movie itself. For the rating, I give it in my own opinion, 8/10. Venturing around, I also went to see the Hilarious & Wild 'Open Season' last thursday (30/11/06). There is also a bit of touching scenes added in the end of the movie. It's about an grizzly bear named Boog (Played by Martin Lawrence) who is set free by his owner (Debra Messing)after an misunderstanding involving troublemaker deer Elliot (Ahton Kutcher) leading her to believe Boog has gone wild. In the movie itself also has some interesting characters played by supporting casts. Then there's a crazed hunter named Shaw (Gary Sinise), who is convinced that Boog is leading the forest animals in an attempt to take over the world. Boog needs to find his way home, as well as stopping Shaw and other hunters from prowling the woods during the three days due course 'Open Season'. It's a 'brewing war' between humans and animals. Main focus? Forgiveness, trust, friendship as well as 'sense of belonging';Home. For the rating, I give it in my own opinion, 9/10. Both movies are suitable for the whole family. So, Enjoy it during this school holidays!!
Last Thursday (30/11/06), as I've already mentioned, went to the movies @ cinema in Jurong East SB Entertainment Centre. Was I been amazed at what they did to the cinema. It was already in the completion of the renovation and it seems that the cineplexes has been moved to the 2nd Floor, next to the X-Zone arcade. Cool! Now all the ticket stands and entrances to the cineplexes are shifted to 2nd Floor!! There were also LCD Screens ready there, to display the timings of the shown movies and the previews of movies coming up as well. (Too bad the LCDs are not functioning yet!!). However, the exit of the cineplexes are still located at 1st Floor (just like old times).
